All models are stretch formed out of hardened aircraft aluminum and heat treated for additional strength. The MICHICRAFT Canoe - So Rugged - It may be the last canoe that you ever own. Model L Series Michicraft Double Ended Canoes The Michicraft L Model Canoe is a standard duty aluminum canoe with 0.040 hull thickness. The L-13 has a unique 42" beam. The L-15 and L-17 have stretch formed sponsons on the sides above the water line. These "safety foils" effectively give the canoe a wider profile for extra stability while keeping the streamlined profile during normal paddling.
